We start with Blue Innovations Group, a marine technology company, who unveiled its much-anticipated flagship product, the R30, on December 16th. The R30 is a 30-foot electric cabin cruiser boat with a 221-kWh battery pack, 800 hp dual motor powertrain, integrated UI, and solar charging capability.

Founder and CEO John Vo shared his excitement, stating, "The R30 will provide the ultimate boating experience for customers with uncompromised safety, performance, style, and value while being environmentally friendly." This first-of-its-kind recreational boat offers customers an unparalleled experience, combining advanced technologies and timeless styling.

IMTRA, a leading manufacturer and importer of quality solutions and products for the marine, energy and transportation markets, announced today the introduction of the new Sleipner Electric Vector FinsTM any speed stabilization system. Revolutionizing stabilization for yachts, the system incorporates new electric actuators combined with a revolutionary new fin design, the Vector3 Fins, which is a further development of the unique Vector Fins and second generation VFS Vector Fins designs currently used with hydraulic actuators.

Last week, four Congressional Democrats sent a letter to Assistant Administrator for Fisheries Janet Coit urging her to set aside the flawed proposed changes to the North Atlantic right whale vessel speed rule, and instead carry out the full and vigorous exploration of technological solutions that can achieve conservation goals while still allowing reasonable access to public resources.

Representatives Mary Peltola (D-AK), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX), and Brendan Boyle (D-PA) were the authors of the letter. The American Sportfishing Association is grateful for their leadership and applauds this action.

From Europe, Dometic expands its inboard electric steering solution with its new Dometic Optimus 3000 Electric Steering System, specifically designed to meet the load capacity and handling needs of many styles of inboard boats up to 40-feet in length. Dometic is taking even further step into electrification of marine steering system and introduced the new Optimus 3000 Series Electric Steering System for single and twin-rudder inboard powered vessels, bringing faster steering response, precision control and exclusive steering intelligence to single- and dual-rudder inboard powered vessels.

This innovative 12V steering solution can be used with inboard yachts, cabin cruisers, catamarans and sportfishing yachts, providing electric alternative for broader range of boats. It is also an ideal solution for today's evolving new breed of electric propulsion vessels, due to addressing sustainability in its design and manufacture.

Also, in Europe at the recent METSTRADE Show in Amsterdam, Mark Jardine, Marine Business World's Managing Editor, spoke to Seldén's Mats-Uno Fredrikson about the new range of manual and electric self-tailing winches. The drums feature vertical ribs placed in an asymmetric order with uneven distances between the ribs.

The manual operated two-speed self-tailing winches are available in sizes 30 to 66 and electric winches in sizes 40 to 66. The Electric winches are manual two-speed winches fitted to a SEL-Bus driven motor pack allowing for a third high-speed velocity.

And again from Europe, Windelo Catamaran, a French shipyard building eco-advanced performance catamarans, and Just Catamarans, today announced their partnership in response to the US market's demand for (more) environmentally friendly performance multihulls. Just Catamarans will take a strategic role in the growth of Windelo Catamaran in the US market through their expertise in the performance cruising segment.

This new partnership will be launched at the International Miami Boat Show by presenting the New Windelo 50 Yachting as a US premiere, building upon the strong development of the brand from its European base thus far.

Back home, Sunstream® Boat Lifts (the leading manufacturer of high-quality hydraulic boat lifts, the SwiftShield™ Automatic Boat Cover System and pioneer of the hydraulic boat lift) announced today significant investment in the future of boat lift technology. Capping off a year of revolutionary advancements that will redefine the customer experience and the face of waterfront property well into the future, Sunstream has cemented its position as the leader in boat lift innovation.

Introducing the first in a new range of cable boat lifts, the Sunstream Helix line, the new Helix-P piling lift combines unprecedented hydraulic speed with an attractive hidden cable lift structure and a sleek, modular power supply. Helix delivers a refined aesthetic with easier boarding, increased reliability and safety, reduced noise and launching and lifting speeds as fast as 15 seconds.

Last week, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) participated in the Arkansas Outdoor Economy Summit to discuss the state's investment in and growth of outdoor recreation. NMMA also joined a panel discussion to highlight manufacturing in Arkansas and recreational boating's economic impact throughout the state. Arkansas' Office of Outdoor Recreation hosted a summit featuring contributors from all segments of the outdoor economy, including the recreational boating industry.

The event quickly follows the most recent release of U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) economic data from the Outdoor Recreation Satellite Account, which highlights outdoor recreation's $1 trillion contribution to the U.S. economy.
