MariTrace, a market leader in global maritime intelligence and ship tracking, announces the launch of its latest innovation - Mercury. MariTrace will be unveiling its latest product at this year's Superyacht Technology Show on stand 6, in Barcelona, 20 - 21 March 2024.

Setting new and improved standards for tracking devices, Mercury is a secure system that shows a vessel's position in the MariTrace interface, even when AIS data transmissions are unavailable. The advanced box not only detects loss of connectivity but also caches the vessel's position in the event of an internet drop, which will be transmitted to the MariTrace interface upon reconnection.

With the ability to surpass AIS tracking for vessels, Mercury allows customers to view the current position of the vessel, relayed in the advanced, intuitive MariTrace map interface. The highly granular transmission provides a GPS position once per minute as default, with the ability to increase frequency as required.

Mercury has been designed with discretion in mind, as it not only offers compact construction and easy installation but also appeals to the aesthetic of the vessel's interior. In addition, there is no requirement to install additional hardware, such as a marine antenna.

Utilising the vessel's network integration system - compatible with NMEA 0183/2000 - Mercury relays existing GPS and AIS data securely and directly to MariTrace, to be accessed via the interface or API. Designed with ultimate connectivity, Mercury caches data on the hardware, for automatic and on-demand download. Mercury also gives customers the option to share the vessel's positions with other authorised MariTrace users, such as a vessel insurer or security team.

Thomas Owen, CEO of MariTrace comments, "We're very excited to unveil our latest innovation, Mercury, at this year's Superyacht Technology Show. The team look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to stand 6, for the first look at our discreet tracking device.

"Our users consider MariTrace to be the natural choice for vessel-tracking, from assessing risk to understanding supply and demand, our interactive platform and industry-leading developments empower the smartest decisions for safety at sea in high-risk areas."

MariTrace CEO, Thomas Owen, and Director of Business Development, Richard Bradfield, invite show attendees to stand 6, for an exclusive first look at Mercury and further insight about MariTrace.
