This week, Dan Brown, representing Boating Careers and BIAV, visited the Kangan Docklands campus to meet with key personnel overseeing the Certificate III in Marine Mechanical Technology, the industry recognised apprenticeship for future Marine Mechanics.
During the visit, he met with trainer Daniel Arambatzidis to discuss how their organisations could positively impact the attraction of new talent to the apprenticeship program, catering to both school-age and mature individuals.
Kangan trainer Daniel Arambatzidis gave the tour of their first-class facility, showing off the equipment and explaining how the engines and boats for students to train on were donated by companies like Mercury Marine.
Daniel expressed enthusiasm about the potential collaboration with BIAV, emphasising the need to align the apprenticeship program with industry practices. He highlighted the importance of incorporating extra units into the qualification to ensure graduates are well-prepared for the demands of the marine industry.
