Marinas24 will open in just under two months and with the conference program locked away, now is a good time to look at the content that will be delivered by a diverse line up of keynote speakers.

The keynote Designing Marina Precincts is set to be the highlight of the conference.

Marina precincts are lifestyle precincts that enhance the boating experience by blending boat storage and maintenance facilities with ancillary services such as retail spaces, dining and entertainment, accommodation, water sport activities and meeting and event spaces.

James Tuma, Managing Partner at leading planning and design consultant Urbis, will bring together a panel of experts who believe that marinas aren't just a place to park and maintain a boat, they are lifestyle precincts that can return considerable value to all stakeholders.

This panel brings hands on experience in delivering some of the most successful marina precincts in the country and globally. Back by popular demand, Joe Ueberroth, creator of Dana Point Marina, California, will join Greg Shaw CEO Mulpha, developer of Sanctuary Cove and Hayman Island and Bryan Finney, CEO of the greenfield development North Harbour in Burpengary. Together they will share how marina precincts can drive profitability by increasing land use efficiency and deepening customer engagement by creating a harmonious blend of integrated services that considers functionality, aesthetics, sustainability and a broad market.

Marinas24 Chair, Mike Harvey commented, "James Tuma, is the ideal chair for this session. He has experience working on some very high-profile marine facility projects including Brisbane's Queens Wharf, Darling Harbour and Howard Smith Wharves. James has the knowledge and capability to draw out what the audience needs to hear".

Speaking on his role, Tuma commented, "This will be an invaluable session. Done well, marina precincts create additional and diversified income streams that increase customer engagement, satisfaction and longevity. They expand the market potential by opening the precinct for use by non-boaters who also seek to be part of the boating lifestyle and setting. You'd rarely get an opportunity to hear from a panel like this - the combined lived experience and passion from this panel will be incredibly inspiring for all who are fortunate to be there."

The session is a must for those seeking to maximise profitability.
