Marinas24 Day 1 - Managing Lithium

by Marina Industries Association 7 May 2024 13:52 PDT 27-28 May 2024

The Marinas24 International Conference and Trade Exhibition is just around the corner, and with over 333 delegates already registered, it promises to be an exciting event. This year's conference program features one of the best speaker line-ups yet, with sessions designed to inspire industry professionals and capitalise on the strength of the industry.

The Managing Lithium session is one of the highlights of the conference and will feature a panel of industry experts including Lyndon Turner, CEO of Nautilus Marine Insurance, Mike Harvey CMM from East Coast Marina, Matt Ruwald of Allmarine Power Solutions, Murray Nystrom, Director of Australian Forensic, and Mark Halverson, Executive Manager State Fire Safety Section at Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).

The use of Lithium-ion batteries has grown exponentially in the maritime industry but with their use has also increased the risk to marina facilities. This session will provide information on the different types of batteries, the importance of battery connections, battery chemistry, and the rules marinas should have in place. Additionally, the session will address response considerations if an incident involving lithium occurs.

Marinas24 will take place 27 & 28 May 2024 at the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) in Brisbane, Queensland, and will bring together around 350 marina owners, operators, and suppliers for two inspiring days of conferencing and exhibition where over 50 exhibitors will showcase their marina related products and services followed by a Study Tour on the 29th of May.

Marinas24 is not to be missed, it only happens every second year!
