PRO-SET Epoxy OK class UK National Championships at Brixham Yacht Club - Day 1

by Jennie Clark 18 Jul 2024 14:31 PDT 18-21 July 2024

Brixham YC are hosting the OK class National Championships this year, and competitors were greeted by sunshine and blue sky for day one, although this combination was sadly not accompanied by much wind!

Peter Lytton, PRO for the event, wisely held the fleet on shore to allow time for the light breeze to kick in, sending the fleet to race towards Paignton. Race one saw Ed Bradburn claiming line honours, having led from early in the race, followed by Nick Craig and Charlie Cumbley.

Race two got under way after a change of course, and Charlie grabbed line honours with Roger Tushingham second and Nick Craig third.

With five helms all scoring under 10 points after today's racing it's looking like a very competitive fleet!

This year the fleet are supporting StandOut Socks, and Charlie Cumbley was the winner of the first pair of socks to be presented.
