PlanetSail’s Matt Sheahan has another catch-up Sailjuice’s Andy Rice in Marseille where he’s been reporting for World Sailing at the Olympic Regatta.

“Train Hard, Fight Easy”. That has been the secret to Marit Bouwmeester’s dominance of the women’s singlehanded racing at the Olympic Regatta in Marseille. The Dutch sailor is about to get her fourth Olympic medal and her second gold in a glittering career.

Sailjuice’s Andy Rice updates PlanetSail’s Matt Sheahan with all the latest insights from inside the sailing bubble in the sultry and sweltering South of France.

Matt Wearn could be in for match racing his closest rival, Pavlos Kontides from Cyprus, as the Australian bids to become the first ever sailor to win back to back Olympic titles in the men’s singlehander.

Tita and Banti haven’t had it all their own way in the Nacra 17 catamaran and are having to keep an eye on Argentina in the medal race on Wednesday, while there’s close showdown in store in the Mixed 470 with Austria a few points ahead of Spain and Japan.

The kites still have some more days to go to complete their series, but with the wind so light, every race counts more than ever.
