When luxury high-performance boat manufacturer Technohull unveiled its new factory in 2021, it was more than just a milestone for the company - it also signaled a leap forward for the international sector.

  • Technohull - builder of high-performance, luxury boats - has further expanded its state-of-the-art production facility in Greece opened in 2021
  • The new facility now features over 25,000 square meters of covered production area, including a new building for GRP production, several automotive-style painting booths, the larger one a 25-metre paint boot, probably the largest in the country, a new space dedicated to CNC machines, and a new carpentry and decking manufacturing building
  • The site is one of the most advanced boatbuilding facilities in the world
  • It will allow Technohull to meet growing global demand for its luxury boats as well as ensuring it can take on increasingly challenging projects

Combining efficient production planning methodology with the ultimate in manufacturing technology, the 50-acre site in Lavrio, Greece, represented one of the largest investments yet made in this sector and stood as a statement of intent for Technohull that reflected the advanced design and exceptional quality of its world-renowned models.

Now, just three years later, Technohull has completed the next phase of the state-of-the-art site's extraordinary development. A further 20 acres have been added to make 70 acres in total, while covered manufacturing area has been more than doubled from 12.000 square meters to over 25.000 square meters, with two new buildings also added.

"After three years in our new facility and as our range develops - including new, challenging projects we are undertaking - our production needs are continually increasing," says Gerasimos Petratos, CEO of Technohull. "This has meant the need for immediate expansion with additional facilities."

Along with the general expansion, the site boasts the most advanced production infrastructure and is one of the most modern and technologically advanced shipyards in the world for this market category. Complementing the range of industrial equipment, spanning everything from small-scale milling machines and 20-metre-long 5-axis CNC unit to fully controlled spray booths and post-curing ovens, the expanded facility now includes another 6.500 sqm building for GRP production, automotive-style painting booths, a 25-metre painting booth, a building dedicated to carpentry and decking manufacturing and 1.500 sqm dedicated space for new CNC machines.

"The whole production site is perfectly organized for every step of the production process from concept development, design and prototyping to final production, engineering and fitting," G.P. enthuses. "This enables lean and environmentally friendly production processes to ensure the highest boatbuilding quality and, most importantly, the capacity to complete even the most demanding projects."

The facility and construction processes are overseen by a highly skilled team of design, engineering and production specialists whose focus remains not only on considering every design element down to the smallest detail, but also on ensuring that production is carefully controlled at every stage to deliver optimum quality. It's all part of what makes a Technohull boat both technically superior and aesthetically sublime.

The company's dedication to excellence is reflected in its considerable growth over the past two years. Production in 2024 will be 55 percent higher than in 2022, with 155 units built, and the number of employees has increased over the same period from 120 to more than 220. Technohull's turnover has increased approximately €10 million each year, highlighting both the return on investment in the new facility and also the increasing demand for Technohull's exciting and exquisitely finished luxury boats around the world.

"As the brand evolves and we are moving towards a more demanding future, we are constantly challenged to become stronger in so many ways," G.P. concludes. "The shipyard's expansion not only allows us to further increase our production capacity but also to undertake bigger, more complex and more challenging projects and, beyond doubt, enhance further our presence in the global arena."
