With the start of Hamilton Island Race Week just days away, the Nautilus Marine Insurance team are geared up to join sailors from around Australia at the acclaimed regatta.

As CEO of Nautilus Marine Insurance, one of Australia and New Zealand's leading providers of insurance solutions for recreational vessels and marine business assets, Lyndon Turner sees Hamilton Island Race Week as a perfect opportunity to showcase Nautilus Marine's support of boat owners and the North Queensland region.

"This is now our third year partnering with Hamilton Island Race Week," says Turner. "For us the week-long regatta is not just about the superb racing and onshore festivities in an idyllic location, it is also about the Nautilus Marine Insurance team supporting the sailing community and showcasing how our insurance products have been designed with the needs of boat owners in mind. Yacht racing is an exciting and rewarding sport no matter what level you compete at and many boat owners want peace of mind for regattas such as Hamilton Island Race Week. Nautilus Marine Insurance understands this and so we offer full race cover for yachts and catamarans, including all sails. This cover is included within your policy as standard for races that do not exceed 100nm in duration. This, and a yacht racing entrant fee reimbursement cover, which covers you if a claim prevents your yacht from competing in a regatta*, are just two examples of how we support boat owners with quality coverage and security."

Rob Aldis is the Commodore of Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Sydney and is competing at Hamilton Island Race Week for the eighth time this year. "It is a regatta that has something for everyone," he says. "It is very well organised, with ideal racing conditions, great weather, and even some whale watching thrown in!"

Rob is competing on Daguet 2, a Mylius 50 performance cruiser that he co-owns with Peter Byford from Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club on Pittwater. "Peter is on board now having a relaxing cruise to get the yacht to the island. I'm bringing her back with three others and am looking forward to some island hopping on the way. The deliveries to and from turn competing at Hamilton Island Race Week into a perfect holiday for everyone."

The 39th edition of Hamilton Island Race Week will be staged from 17-24 August 2024. There will be over 170 boats and around 2000 sailors and spectators heading to The Whitsundays for Australia's largest offshore keelboat regatta. The Nautilus Marine Insurance team will be available throughout Race Week supporting competitors. Two highlights of Race Week will be the Nautilus Marine Insurance Classic Long Race, and the Nautilus Marine Insurance Classic Medium Distance Race, both held on Tuesday 20 August.
