On August 2, NMMA President and CEO Frank Hugelmeyer joined Fox News to discuss the proposed NOAA vessel speed rule and the negative consequences the rule will inflict on American businesses, workers, and coastal economies if enacted. "If this rule becomes law, it's going to be devastating to the marine industry," Hugelmeyer told Fox News reporter Douglas Kennedy.

Congressman Don Davis (D-NC) visited North Carolina boat builder Grady-White on August 5 to hear from the company leadership and employees and to see the many upgrades since he was first elected to the North Carolina State Senate and visited the company several years ago.

The latest sales trends report for outboard engines, part of NMMA's 2023 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract, is now available for download. This section provides an overview of U.S. outboard engine retail market trends, including a deep historical view that helps with building future insights. The U.S. outboard engine retail market in 2023 presented a complex yet largely positive picture with a growing appetite for higher-performance engines. The 300hp and greater segments registered a nearly 18% increase and the 250-299.9hp segment also showed an uptick.

Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) is announcing the following changes to its organization that are aimed at further broadening the experience of its senior leadership team. Aine Denari is named Executive Vice President and President, Navico Group, and Brunswick Chief Technology Officer. Denari was previously President, Brunswick Boat Group, a role she assumed in October 2020. During her tenure, Boat Group achieved exceptionally strong operational and financial performance and successfully navigated very dynamic market conditions.

In her new and expanded role, Denari will lead the next phase of evolution of the Navico Group and be responsible for Brunswick's technology strategy and advanced development activities, including maintaining the leadership of autonomy programs and assuming responsibility for the Boating Intelligence DesignLab at the University of Illinois.

Aquila Power Catamarans announces the appointment of Nick Harvey as its new Chief Revenue Officer to build on Aquila's position as a leader in the power catamaran industry. Nick Harvey brings 21 years of leadership experience in the marine industry. He was previously employed by Groupe Beneteau, where he helped shape various brands into global leaders in Europe and the United States. Nick's extensive international experience and proven track record in expanding customer-focused dealer networks will be invaluable as Aquila continues its global growth and gears up to launch several new models in 2024 and beyond.

British luxury motor yacht manufacturer Fairline Yachts has announced Bryan Jones as its new Head of Sales in the Americas, effective immediately. Following a decade as Global Marketing Manager at Sunseeker International, Bryan returns to Fairline where he previously spent 13 years in several senior sales and marketing roles globally, including responsibility for Australasia and the Americas.

Avikus, HD Hyundai's autonomous navigation technology developer, has announced that its innovative smart navigation and docking solution - NeuBoat Dock - which takes the stress out of docking by offering increased situational awareness, is now available for purchase.

This brand-new minimalist, multi-purpose dry suit is designed for those who enjoy shorter-duration water activities and is available in men's and women's versions.
