The Boating Careers Industry Immersion program recently spanned three consecutive weeks across Dandenong, Williamstown, and Geelong, engaging 37 students from multiple schools with 12 industry employers.
The students demonstrated strong enthusiasm and genuine interest in pursuing boating careers.
In collaboration with Vic LLENs and Headstart providers, structured work placements are set to progress into school-based apprenticeships, offering students real career opportunities.
This successful immersion model, which involved significant industry support, will be replicated next year with plans to expand into more regions, including a potential female-focused program in partnership with Victorian Fishing Authority and WIRFAB.
