The new Rustler 41 Motor Yacht

We wanted Rustler's first motor yacht to be a boat you could be proud of, a motorboat with the same intrinsic beauty our sailing yachts possess. We believe she is.

The R41 has a timeless appeal, not in-vogue one minute and outdated the next. She'll be as pleasing to the eye in 25 years as she is now. The four-berth R41 shares Rustler's blend of practicality, performance, quality and comfort that our owners expect.

The standard yacht has shaft drives, with an option for outboards (primarily for the US market). Experienced boat owners will appreciate the yacht's technical space, a dedicated area for electrical services, not in the engine room; equipment here avoids the heat and salt-laden cooling air that engine rooms encounter.

For her performance, we wanted speed and economy, a motor yacht that could easily cruise comfortably at 25 knots and exceed 30 knots if required - it's nice to know you can make up time if you have to. This yacht has twin 370hp Yanmar engines. She comfortably cruised at 25 knots at 2,800 rpm in our sea trials.

We have some of the finest cabinetmakers working for us, each with decades of experience. Their quality of work is second to none. This 41 has a walnut interior, and the attention to detail has to be seen in person to appreciate it. A famed superyacht designer once said, "A straight line is the cheapest distance between two points", and it's true. The interior could be made easier, quicker and cheaper, but that never leads to a beautiful boat, and at Rustler, our motto is "Beautiful yachts, beautifully built".

When the R41's naval architect, Tony Castro, drew a graceful radius for the end of the master suite berth, we knew our craftsmen would build it beautifully - and they have. The curved corner posts incorporated in the berth ends and the cabinets match perfectly, not just in colour and tones, but also in grain pattern, because they were once the same piece of wood.

Finally, the R41 has to be comfortable. Rustler yachts sailing the world's oceans have an unbeatable reputation for sea-kindliness and build quality that exudes confidence. We wanted the same for the R41. Any uncomfortable handling traits have been designed out of the hull, so, like her sailing siblings, she offers you a comfortable and predictable sea-kindly feel.

We are delighted with the finished boat and look forward to welcoming you on board at the Southampton International Boat Show or after the show in Falmouth.
