The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) has announced the launch of its new Recreational Boating Industry Monthly Data Report, including performance indicators on wholesale and retail sales of new powerboats and outboard engines, economic metrics, and interactive graphs illustrating historical trends.

The reports from January to September 2024 are now available for download and will be released the first week of each month.

In Florida, Martha Guyas, the American Sportfishing Association's Southeast Fisheries Policy Director, joined recreational fishing and conservation community members at the first annual Florida Water Quality Summit hosted by Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL19). Guyas spoke to recreational fishing industry priorities in a panel discussion around innovative solutions to combat water quality challenges.

The International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), North America's premier technical trade event for the recreational marine industry, announced the distinguished list of judges for the 21st IBEX Innovation Awards Program. Managed by the NMMA and independently judged by Boating Writers International (BWI), the program is one of the marine industry's most prestigious honors recognizing manufacturers and suppliers who bring new, innovative products to market. This year over 80 products were entered from 70 participating companies. Product entries can be reviewed along Innovation Way, located on the second-floor rotunda, throughout the days of the Show.

Marine giant, BRP Inc (TSX:DOO; NASDAQ:DOOO), presents its second quarter results for the fiscal year. BRP has reported its financial results for the three- and six-month periods ended July 31. The complete financial results are available on SEDAR+ and EDGAR as well as in the section Quarterly Reports of BRP's website.

Suntex Marina Investors, the largest standalone recreational marina owner in the U.S. by marina count and boat slips, announced that it has acquired Hidden Cove Marina, in north Texas. A full-service marina in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this is positioned on the east side of Lake Lewisville. The marina offers 374 wet slips and 615 dry, each with access to electric, water and cable with size accommodation ranging from 24- to 48-feet. Its amenities include fuel sales, a ship store, boat rentals, an on-site restaurant and gated entry to the docks. The marina also allows boaters and customers easy access to an RV park, beaches, nature trails and private restrooms and showers.

The Pacific Coast Congress of Harbormasters and Port Managers has awarded five grants and scholarships through the organization's Barbara Schwantes Fund. Barbara Schwantes served as the first PCC executive secretary, helping the organization to grow from concept to reality. Following her passing, the PCC initiated a memorial fund in her name for worthy marine projects.

Golden Marine Systems, in conjunction with Gorman Marine Construction, is making significant progress in the restoration of Salty Sam's Marina in Fort Myers Beach, following the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian in September 2022. The hurricane's destructive force left the marina in ruins, but Golden Marine Systems, known for its high-quality dock systems, has been instrumental in bringing the marina back to life.

Overseas, registrations now open and all systems are go for METSTRADE 2024. Expectations are high for the world's largest trade exhibition of leisure marine equipment, materials and systems, with strong exhibitor numbers, a dynamic event programme, and highly relevant content. The show caters to all audiences — from marina builders to equipment companies and superyacht professionals - and will take place at RAI Amsterdam November 19-21.
