Victorian Charter Boat Operator has wind in its sails following Local Economic Recovery Grant Program.

The brand new Seawind 1160 sailing catamaran will be on display at the Melbourne International Boat Show in Docklands, 17-20 October 2024, in a joint initiative by Gippsland-based charter boat company, Riviera Nautic and the Seawind Australian distributer, Multihull Central.

Managing Director at Riviera Nautic, Cam Johns, says, "The most exciting aspect of displaying this magnificent new vessel to our Melbourne-based charter customers, is that they can be hiring this actual yacht just two weeks after the boat show, once she returns to our charter base in Metung,"

Riviera Nautic is offering big charter price discounts to those who attend the show and make a charter booking for the Seawind 1160, affectionally named, "MeerKat".

The luxurious Seawind 1160 sailing catamaran represents a significant $1million investment in the Riviera Nautic charter fleet and follows extensive refurbishment of the charter company's on-water infrastructure at their charter base in Metung on the picturesque Gippsland Lakes.

Riviera Nautic received joint State/Federal Government funding under the Local Economic Recovery Grants Program, contributing to the cost of the infrastructure refurbishments, including additional boat berthing space, to enable expansion of the Riviera Nautic charter boat fleet.

This public investment has facilitated significant further investment of private funds in Riviera Nautic for the purchase of the Seawind 1160.

Cam Johns says, "The purpose of the LER grant program was to improve tourism infrastructure and build resilience in tourism products in regions that were impacted by bushfires in 2019/20. The addition of our Seawind 1160 catamaran to our charter fleet has been enabled by the expansion of our on-water infrastructure and achieves the exact outcomes proposed by the grant program."

Cam and staff will be on hand at the Melbourne International Boat Show to answer questions and show you how easy it can be to hire the magnificent new Seawind 1160, "MeerKat".
