Whilst we have some interesting news regarding the Sydney International Boat Show about to emerge, news from an overseas show is already promoting optimism months before it takes place.

Following the record-breaking success of Metstrade 2024, the upcoming edition (18-20 November) is already attracting strong exhibitor interest. Metstrade is encouraged by the way exhibitors are finding their way to this years' show, with demand for stand space exceeding previous years. Despite a challenging market, enthusiasm for participation remains high, reaffirming the Amsterdam show's position as the premier global platform for innovation, technology and business development in the leisure marine industry.

World Boating Day, an international open day for the entire leisure boating industry already spanning over nine countries in 2024, is already on its way to grow bigger in its Second Edition. On 24 May the Superyacht Life Foundation - who coordinates the entire campaign - is inviting businesses, foundations and yacht crew from within the boating and yachting industries to open their doors for a "glocal" celebration. World Boating Day is championed by over 37 industry organisations, across the world, and its message is carried by six country-specific ambassadors.

Celebrate International Women's Day with the Boating Industry Association on 6 March, as they bring together professionals from across the marine industry for an inspiring and empowering event. BIA will be hosting events in stunning waterfront locations in both Sydney and on the Gold Coast. Enjoy drinks, mouth-watering canapés and network with like-minded industry colleagues. You will hear from inspiring speakers Dr Suzy Green and Jo Porter from The Positivity Institute. Plus, they're proudly supporting Dress for Success, raising funds to help women re-enter the workforce.

The BIA is also calling on all members of the boating community to help build a unique repository of industry profiles that showcase the incredible diversity of careers in the marine sector. Do you know someone in your network whose story deserves to be shared? Whether they've inspired you, introduced you to boating, supported your career growth, or overcome challenges to thrive in the industry, we want to hear about them. These stories will be featured across BIA platforms to inspire and empower others to explore the opportunities within the marine industry.

Boat dealers continue to expand globally. Apreamare begins 2025 by consolidating its commercial presence at an international level with the signing of three new distribution agreements. Atalanta Marine (Greece), Alberta Yachts D.O.O. (Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Southern Germany) and 5 Star Motor Yachts (Australia) join the shipyard's dealer network, affirming Apreamare's ongoing growth and testifying to increasing interest in the new Gozzo in different markets that are ever more attentive to new style trends linked to Made in Italy production.

In New Zealand, The Yacht Sales Co. (incorporating Multihull Solutions) will showcase some of the world's leading sail models at the Auckland Boat Show from 6-9 March. On display will be the exceptional Dufour 470 as well as the Tanna 47 and Elba 45 sailing catamarans by Fountaine Pajot. Set in the heart of the City of Sails in Jellicoe Harbour, previously the America's Cup team bases, the Auckland Boat Show is perfectly timed to make the most of a summer on the water.

The Yacht Sales Co. has also agreed to be the major sponsor of the famous Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Weekend. Held on New Zealand's Kawau Island, 14-16 February, this hugely popular event is a highlight of the Squadron's social calendar and comprises competitive racing and cruising events amid an unforgettable social schedule.

Elan Yachts have announced a new exclusive partnership. Charlie Bravo Boat Co. is their official distributor for New Zealand. Located in the heart of Auckland's iconic Westhaven Marina, Charlie Bravo Boat Co. is perfectly positioned to serve sailors across the country. Known for their extensive expertise, passion for the marine industry, and commitment to customer service, they are the ideal partner to enhance the presence of Elan Yachts in the New Zealand market.
