Ahoy! Insurance Expands Into Florida, The World's Largest Boating Market

by Ahoy! Insurance 7 Feb 16:24 UTC

Ahoy! Insurance, the tech-driven insurance provider built by boaters for boaters, today announced its public entry into the Florida market, expanding access to its innovative marine insurance products to the world's largest boating community.

Ahoy! offers Florida boaters flexible and user-centric insurance solutions, ensuring they find the protection they need. With two product offerings, Ahoy! makes finding the right protection at the right price easier than ever, providing coverage for virtually every boater, and simplifying the search for coverage for both consumers and agents. Coverage extends to vessels up to 95 feet and $2.5 million in value.

Key Differentiators Include:

  • Dual Offering Flexibility: A choice between government-backed insurance and E&S coverage for larger vessels or those outside traditional insurance limits.
  • Simplified Experience: Elimination of the need for multiple brokers by serving as a one-stop shop for coverage.
  • Customer-Centric Innovation: Proactive risk-reduction technology and seamless policy management to maximize boaters' time on the water.
  • Tech-Driven Onboarding: Effortless, user-friendly platform built by boaters for boaters, enabling quick, seamless onboarding and easy access to customized coverage for consumers and agents alike.
"Florida is the epicenter of recreational boating, and our entry into this market represents a significant milestone for Ahoy! Insurance," said Bob Jones, Ahoy!'s VP of Distribution and Business Development. "Our ease of quoting is refreshing and provides peace of mind and coverages tailored to the policyholder and agent's needs and expectations"

As an E&S broker, Ahoy! further eases agents' efforts by eliminating the need to shop for coverage when rejected by a carrier. One agency has increased its close ratio by 40% since November while others have had similar success with their close ratio as well. The rapid growth of these agencies highlights the demand for Ahoy! Insurance's innovative approach to boating insurance in the state.

Ahoy! Insurance's expansion follows the recent launch of its yacht underwriting program, which extended coverage to larger vessels nationwide, underscoring its mission to redefine marine insurance with technology and boater-first solutions. This expansion comes at a pivotal time for Florida's boating industry, as traditional insurers continue to increase premiums and scale back offerings.

The Ahoy! Insurance team will be attending the 2025 Miami Boat Show.
