Sportfishing industry closely tracking international trade developments

by American Sportfishing Association 11 Feb 10:30 PST

Over the past week, President Trump announced various tariff actions on Canada, Mexico and China.

Following conversations with the respective leaders of each country, the previously announced 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico were delayed until March 4th, while 10% tariffs on China remain in place. Notably, a previously announced suspension of de minimis eligibility for Chinese products, an action supported by the recreational fishing community, was temporarily paused.

With additional tariff actions expected in the weeks ahead, ASA will keep our members and partners informed on the latest developments and their impact on the sportfishing industry.
