Solid State Marine, U.S. manufacturer of innovative, high-performance solid-state battery solutions for the maritime market, has announced a complete paradigm shift in battery technology with its lineup of made-in-the USA, state-of-the-art batteries, now available in all standard battery sizes to customers across North America.

As the exclusive licensee for the marine industry in the U.S., bringing the only solid state power storage solutions on the market, Solid State Marine offers boaters a revolutionary battery with higher power, lighter weight in a safer package than those currently available. This research and development took over 10 years of testing and 2 years of field tests to bring this to the market. The patented technology uses a completely solid electrolyte to conduct lithium ions, significantly reducing the distance between the cathode and anode and avoiding heavy and often volatile liquids or gels, like those found in lead-acid- or lithium-ion-based products. This results in roughly half the weight of traditional lithium and a quarter of the weight of AGM batteries with reduced fire or combustion risk for the ultimate peace of mind. In addition, Solid State Marine batteries can run up to eight times longer than the leading lithium or lead acid batteries and are safe to charge and operate down to -4-degrees F (-20-degrees C). As an added bonus, the batteries are interchangeable with existing battery footprints and can be charged with existing chargers, allowing boaters to switch out batteries without needing to change any other components on their vessel. In addition, with an overall higher energy density than existing batteries, there is less of a need for generators on board, allowing boaters and boat builders to further reduce weight and free up space for storage or other necessary equipment.

The company is led by CEO, Tom Calef, a United States Coast Guard licensed Captain and seven-time entrepreneur in consumer devices and services, commercial and industrial robotics, medical robotics, computer vision and artificial intelligence, with over 30 years of marine experience. Calef is joined by Vice President of Sales and Marketing Kirk Fitzsimmons, a Harvard Business School alum with over 30 years of marine industry experience, serving OEMs and distributors.

Applying best practices from the technological advancements in the medical device world, along with their vast experiences in the marine marketplace, the Solid State Marine team brings a unique battery experience to handle customized options based on customer's need. This includes a staff of engineers and experts to respond to any and all technical questions a customer could have.

"Solid State Marine batteries shatter expectations by offering a more powerful, lighter weight, faster charging and overall safer option to boaters of today's marketplace," said Tom Calef, CEO, Solid State Marine. "Bringing a completely new battery technology to the market is no simple task, especially in a harsh marine environment. We are confident that users will appreciate the added benefits of our products as boat electronics and systems become more complex and power needs evolve. We're very proud of our ability at Solid State Marine to bring a range of products that will change the boating experience forever. The performance gains and longer run times are a tremendous benefit, but what is most exciting to me is the increased safety and reduced risk of fire."

Offering a full lineup of 12v, 24v, 36v,48v, and up to 400v and 700v batteries, Solid State Marine brings boaters a battery solution for every marine application. Products are available now from $999 to $5,950. For more information on Solid State Marine and its entire product lineup, please visit solidstatemarine.com.
