Mulpha Events is thrilled to announce the appointment of Claire Back as General Manager - Events & Partnerships, commencing Monday 28 April 2025.

A respected leader in Australia's events industry, Claire brings over 20 years of experience spanning food and wine, motorsport, and fashion. She's held senior roles at some of the country's most celebrated events—including as General Manager of Marketing and Experience at the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix and most recently, Acting Chief Operating Officer at the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Claire is widely respected for her ability to shape bold brands, foster impactful partnerships, and lead high-performing teams. Her passion lies in creating experiences that don't just impress but inspire.

"What drew me to Mulpha Events is its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and delivering events that are not just world-class—but genuinely meaningful," said Claire Back. "With such a diverse portfolio, a focus on sustainability, and deep audience insight, there's huge creative potential here. I'm excited to join a team with bold ambition and real heart."

She added, "This role is about relationships—within our team, and across our industry networks. Collaboration is where the magic happens, and I can't wait to get started."

Mulpha Events is the creative force behind some of Australia's most iconic and fastest-growing events, including the 36-year-strong Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, the Gold Coast Festival of Golf, and the Australian Adventure Expo. As event delivery partner to the Boating Industry Association Ltd., the business also plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of marine and lifestyle events. With a growing national footprint, its portfolio spans marine, sport, lifestyle, and adventure—positioning Mulpha as a leader in premium event experiences.

Patrick Lonergan, Head of Hotels, Hospitality and Leisure at Mulpha Australia, welcomed Claire's appointment:

"Claire is a transformational leader with a rare blend of strategic foresight, creativity, and operational excellence," said Lonergan. "Her deep experience in sponsorships and partnerships makes her a natural fit for our events team, where collaboration with industry, stakeholders, and brand partners is at the core of what we do. She's joining an already outstanding team, and together they'll help shape the next generation of exceptional, high-impact events."

Claire's personal ties to the marine world—shaped by family traditions and global sailing adventures—give her a unique lens on Mulpha's cornerstone event categories. Her appreciation for the lifestyle and community behind these events adds depth to her leadership as the business continues to elevate its marine and adventure portfolio.
