Global Women's Walk 2025 - walk, connect and give back!

Can't wait until September? Get involved in the first-ever Global Women's Walk 2025!

The marine industry is coming together for something truly special - the Global Women's Walk 2025, launched by the Soundings Trade Only Group, Metstrade, British Marine, and Marine Industry News, is a movement to honour, support, and uplift women in our industry.

From May 11-18, 2025, coinciding with International Women in Maritime Day, industry professionals and supporters are invited to walk 5Km (3.2 miles)—wherever they are, with whomever they choose. Open to all genders, this walk promotes unity, progress, and recognition for the contributions of women in the marine sector. The worldwide results will be monitored and shared to provide an amazing global experience.

This initiative supports Room to Read, a global nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering girls through education. Through its Girls' Education Programme, Room to Read provides young women with the skills, mentorship, and resources they need to complete their education and unlock greater opportunities for their future. Don't worry if the May dates don't work for you - just accomplish your walk before Metstrade, 18-20 November, and your miles and donations will be included in the final results.

Lesley Robinson concluded: "The Global Women's Walk is a fantastic opportunity for the marine industry to come together in a show of support and solidarity for women. Not only is it a chance to connect with others, but it also raises vital funds for Room to Read, helping to give young women access to education and brighter futures. We encourage everyone to take part and make a difference."
