In response to recent developments surrounding U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles, the Government of Canada has announced limited retaliatory measures—focused on U.S.-made autos to match what the U.S. has imposed on Canada.

Notably, Canadian officials have not imposed tariffs on American-made recreational boats at this time.

This is significant news for the marine industry, while the U.S. administration's announcement last week triggered immediate concerns of a broader trade escalation, Canada's current response does not include American-built boats.

While recreational boats remain on the much larger list of products identified for possible Canadian retaliation, Canada has not yet pulled the tariff lever on U.S. boats.
