Temporary tariff exemptions announced for certain electronics

In a recent announcement, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed that select electronics will be temporarily exempt from newly imposed tariffs, providing short-term relief for U.S. manufacturers that rely on imported components. The exemption is aimed at helping industries transition to new sourcing arrangements following the administration's broader tariff actions.

For recreational marine manufacturers, this update may affect marine electronics that depend on global supply chains. However, the Commerce Department emphasized that these exemptions will be limited in duration and subject to change as the administration continues implementing its reciprocal trade framework.

NMMA strongly encourages members who rely on imported electronics to review their supply chains and prepare for the phase-out of these exemptions.
