Sail Canada and SailTies are pleased to announce the extension of their partnership started in 2024, as well as the deepening of their relationship.

SailTies is a sailing log application, built for smartphones, designed for the way people go sailing today, and free with an optional SailTies Plus subscription for sailors who wish to unlock even more from their voyages.

Launched in 2021, SailTies compliments a sailor's hardcopy logbook, preventing the loss of records and certifications by misplacing paperwork or damaging the logbook with water. It also replaces the need to fill out a logbook as its built-in capabilities can track distances and hours on the water, tie to weather information in the paid version, and add crew and positions to their log. Sailors can also import tracks from other navigation platforms or devices from your past sailings.

SailTies also allows users to easily record and share their sailing experiences and draw inspiration from the online community of SailTies users, by sharing log time on the water by connecting to the user's social media platforms and their photos, videos and logs to the track to build the full picture of the trip. These memories can be shared with friends, family and any existing sailing clubs and communities.

The new partnership will better promote the sport, Canadian sailors and clubs on digital media through the current and upcoming many functionalities of SailTies, as well as new visibility opportunity for Canadian clubs and schools.

Special promotion for Sail Canada Sailor Portal profile holders

Until June 15, 2025, Sail Canada Sailor Portal profile holders can take advantage of a 20% discount on their annual registration to SailTies Plus.

SailTies Plus is the paid version of the application, allowing users to unlock more from their sailing trips with collections, videos and access to automatic weather data. More information is available at sailties.net/plus.

To take advantage of this offer, Canadian sailors are invited to get information about how to get the discount by logging on to the Sail Canada Sailor Portal at members.sailcanada.org, and then by going, in the left Menu, to "Special Offers", then to "See All".

"At SailTies, we're building more than just a digital logbook—we're creating a platform that helps every sailor, from weekend cruisers to lifelong racers, keep a clear, secure record of their time on the water," said Chris Jacobs, co-founder of SailTies. "This expanded partnership with Sail Canada allows us to better support individual sailors as well as the clubs, schools, and communities that help the sport thrive. Together, we're making it easier to track progress, celebrate achievements, and stay connected—on every lake, river, and coast across the country."

"Sail Canada is excited to deepen our partnership with SailTies", said Sail Canada's Chief Executive Officer, Ryan Kelly. "SailTies is a great solution for sailors to digitally log their voyages and is a great tool to promote the sport and experiences of Canadian sailors. Sail Canada is glad to work in collaboration with SailTies to better promote the sport and activities of Canadian sailors, clubs, schools and marine company across the country."

SailTies is available for iOS and Android systems. You can download SailTies at sailties.net.
