The 2025 American Boating Congress (ABC) concluded last week in the nation's capital, bringing together marine industry leaders and policymakers for high-level discussions on the future of recreational boating and marine manufacturing.

Culminating the three-day event, Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) opened the morning breakfast and emphasized the important role the recreational boating and fishing industry play in our nation's economy. Former Sen. Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) also addressed attendees, emphasizing the importance of constituent-driven policymaking, the strength of American manufacturing, and his personal connection to boating and outdoor recreation.

The second edition of the World Foiling Congress took place last week at Palazzo della Borsa in Genova (Italy), attracting top industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders from across the global Foiling Community. Organised by The Foiling Organization, this event confirmed its role as the foremost international forum dedicated to the innovation, regulation, and strategic development of the fast-evolving hydrofoiling sector.

Millions of dollars' worth of yachts by globally recognized manufacturers were on display, and ready for purchase or charter, at the 2nd Virgin Islands Boating Expo (VIBE). Over the four-day event, hosted by the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association, May 15-18, at IGY's Yacht Haven Grande, hundreds of residents and visitors walked the docks.

Taking place later this year, The International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) announced North America's premier technical trade event for the recreational marine industry will be held at the Tampa Convention Center, October 7 - 9. "IBEX 2025 is where the marine industry comes together," said Mary Velline, IBEX Show Director. "We come together not just to showcase what's next, but to solve today's challenges and shape a brighter future. United, we move the industry Fast Forward."

Taiga Motors Inc. has reached an important milestone restarting its manufacturing operations and beginning customer deliveries of the new MY25 Orca watercraft that features new innovations, including significant advancements in battery performance and faster charging times.

Railblaza, manufacturer of premium quality, user-friendly electronics, fishing and boating mounting systems and accessories, has announced the launch of its Sonar 360 Mount, designed for seamless 90-degree rotation to deploy and stow a transducer with ease.

Avikus, HD Hyundai's specialized Autonomous Navigation Technology subsidiary, announced today its innovative smart navigation and docking solution NEUBOAT has been selected for the iF Design Award 2025 in the category of User/Product Interface. With almost 11,000 entries from 66 countries, the iF Design Award 2025 proves to be one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world. In three intense and successful days in Hamburg, Germany with the who's-who of the international design scene, 131 jurors from 23 countries selected the best and most outstanding designs.

There's still time to recognize the leaders who have shaped—and continue to guide—the recreational boating industry. The 2025 NMMA Hall of Fame Award, the Association's most prestigious honor, celebrates individuals whose vision, dedication, and lasting contributions have made a profound impact on marine manufacturing and the broader boating community. Honoring those who have set the standard helps preserve their legacy and inspires the next generation of innovators and advocates.
