Wessex Resins & Adhesives Win The David Coleman Excellence in Exporting Award 2025

by Chris Jones 12 Jun 23:30 PDT

The David Coleman Excellence in Exporting Award 2025 has been won by Wessex Resins & Adhesives for their dedication in manufacturing and exporting specialist epoxy-based solutions around the world.

With a team of 40 based in Romsey, Hampshire, the business serves all areas of the marine industry, from working with BAE Systems on MOD projects to supplying their expertise to historic boatyards restoring spectacular Rivas on the Italian lakes.

As well as being the EMEA manufacturer and supplier of the WEST SYSTEM®, PRO-SET® and Entropy Resins® brands under licence, the company is a leader in developing and distributing resins and adhesives to solve a wide range of unique client problems. Working with industries across the globe to create bespoke solutions as needed, their innovations include an epoxy range that can be mixed, applied and cured underwater. A real British manufacturing success story and highly deserving of the 2025 David Coleman Excellence in Exporting Award.

Upon receipt of the trophy Sam Oliver, Wessex Resins & Adhesives Operations Director said, "I'm just so pleased that our hard-working team involved in our exporting of all things epoxy gets the recognition they deserve". Martin Pickett, Factory Manager added, "My team are immensely proud to have been recognised for their dedication and efforts in fulfilling overseas orders from the factory over the past year."

Suzanne Blaustone, Barton Marine's CEO announced the winner during the MTA Awards dinner at the Grand Café in Southampton and presented the award to Sam Oliver at Seawork 2025. Sharing her thoughts whilst awarding Wessex Resins & Adhesive, she said, "It's hard to remember a more challenging time to be an exporter and it's great to be able recognise the work and dedication of Wessex Resins & Adhesives in their exporting success around the world. The range of companies and industry areas they sell to and provide with fantastic technical and customer service must be commended."

The David Coleman Award for Excellence in Exporting was created in memory of the late David Coleman, a hugely popular figure within the marine industry and a highly active member of British Marine, serving on the board for 25 years. He was a passionate advocate for UK exporting, championing excellence in the marine industry. In 1986, David purchased Barton Marine, transforming the business into the global brand it is today and with Suzanne now at the helm, shaping it for the future.
