Hall Spars, a trusted name in carbon spar manufacturing for over 40 years, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andre Crawford as its new General Manager, effective June 23, 2025.

A seasoned engineer and production leader, Andre brings nearly two decades of hands-on experience in advanced composites, manufacturing process improvement, and team leadership. He began his career as a Design Engineer at Southern Spars. Now, he returns to the North Technology Group to lead Southern Spars' sister company, Hall Spars, into a new era.

"We're excited to welcome Andre to the Hall Spars team, and back into the NTG family," said NTG Mast Group President James Austin. "His engineering background, operational insight, and passion for quality align perfectly with Hall Spars' values and our vision for the brand."

Engineering at the core

Andre's resume includes senior roles in mast and rig production as well as management experience at the UK Ministry of Defence. He has led teams in both R&D and production settings, with a sharp focus on quality control, process efficiency, and composite manufacturing.

With Hall Spars' proprietary mandrel-moulding process and aerospace-grade carbon curing autoclave now under his leadership, Andre's appointment strengthens Hall Spars' position as a technical expert for clients seeking the perfect balance between performance, ease of use, and on-board comfort - with unshakable reliability built-in.

"One of the very first innovators in composite rigs, Hall Spars is a brand which deservedly has a lot of prestige attached to it," Andre said. "I'm excited to lead a team so committed to excellence, and to help support sailors of all kinds - from cruisers, to racers, to somewhere in between - with beautifully built, smart, practical solutions."

Perfectly balanced: the Hall Spars difference

With over 40 years of experience, Hall Spars focuses on creating light, dependable carbon masts and booms that elevate the sailing experience. Whether for racing or cruising, every Hall Spars rig is built through close collaboration with yacht owners, designers, and project managers to meet exact sailing programmes, load demands, and performance goals - exceeding expectations and delivering the owner's vision on the water.

From seamless carbon masts and furling booms to practical add-ons like under-boom lighting and modular accessories, Hall Spars rigs are engineered to perform brilliantly, simplify handling, deliver elegant aesthetics, and enhance onboard life. At the heart of it all is a commitment to craftsmanship, consistency, and reliability.
