During a visit to Werribee South boat ramp, Minister for Outdoor Recreation Steve Dimopoulos announced that the latest Better Boating Fund will provide $36.3 million for major upgrades across Victoria, including ramp maintenance and dredging to improve access and functionality.
At Werribee South, the $2.2 million project will add an extra ramp lane, an accessible pontoon, and reconfigure the car park to ease congestion and improve traffic flow.
Other major upgrades are planned at Limeburners Point (Geelong), Schnapper Point (Mornington), Tooradin, Port Welshpool, and a new ramp at Howqua Inlet (Lake Eildon).
The Better Boating Fund continues to reinvest boat licence and registration fees directly into boating improvements, with nearly $140 million allocated since 2021, delivering over 50 ramp upgrades across the state.
