- Europe's industry-leading electric & hybrid trade show names Genevos as winner of two award categories namely, the Environmental Achievement of the Year in Propulsion System Design, and the Marine Industry Supplier of the Year;
- This becomes a fourth consecutive annual win for Genevos, having secured the Hydrogen Breakthrough Technology trophy in both 2024 and 2023, in addition to the Propulsion System of the Year award alongside collaborator Transfluid in 2022.
The Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe, the world's leading exhibition and conference for maritime electrification, decarbonisation and greenhouse gas reduction solutions, today 24 June 2025 opened its doors ahead of a 3-day event hosted in the RAI, Amsterdam, Netherlands. This opening day saw the official public announcement and presentation of the trade show awards, which recognise and honour the world's finest manufacturers, suppliers, engineers, innovations and products in the electric and hybrid marine propulsion arena.
This year's awards were developed to recognise the scope of innovation and achievement across the maritime sector over the past 12 months. To acknowledge the increasingly prominent role of sustainability in the maritime sector, the awards feature three categories focused on environmental development and progress towards a greener industry.
Two awards were attributed to Genevos namely the Environmental Achievement of the Year in Propulsion System Design for the team's contribution in the successful launch of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli America's Cup chase boat, whereby Genevos delivered their Complete H2-Pack of solutions guaranteeing 50 knot speeds. This included the delivery of two plug-and-play hydrogen fuel cell power systems (Hydrogen Power Modules, 'HPMs'), engineering, integration, and commissioning services. Genevos specifically managed the hydrogen storage and gas management, including the safety management strategy. This full integration was uniquely validated by maritime classification society Lloyd's Register.
The second award presented Genevos as Marine Industry Supplier of the Year, recognised for their Complete H2-Pack of solutions made available to clients in this all-important energy transition. This further included the engineering of high efficiency e-fuel reformer compatible HPMs to provide a decarbonisation pathway for deep-sea shipping, a sector limited by refuelling options.
The awards, coordinated by Electric & Hybrid Marine Technology International magazine, were officiated by an independent, international panel of more than 25 judges comprising some of the world's leading maritime journalists, industry experts and academics.
Rebecca Sharp, CEO and cofounder of Genevos commented: "Founded in 2018, we have gone from strength to strength demonstrated through rapid and agile product development and key global collaborations. This is down to not just an idea, but a team with an aligned vision to make an impact. It is very rewarding for all at Genevos to be recognised for their considerable dedication in transitioning the maritime sector to clean energy and for improving the resilience of the sector with end-end solutions."

From the 24th - 26th of June Genevos will present for the first time their HPM-250 fuel cell power system with unique e-fuel reformer compatibility: a game-changer for deep-sea decarbonisation. This next-generation marine fuel cell enables fuel flexibility, helping deep-sea vessels to decarbonise with the option of e-fuel choice (ammonia, methanol, etc) to meet specific infrastructure and operational needs. The HPM-250 responds directly to fleet requirements for emissions reduction and high reliability by offering a modular, scalable solution for vessels and power conversion at higher efficiencies than combustion, thereby reducing operational costs and providing clear environmental benefits.
Genevos was selected among tough competition presented from leading global players including Corvus Energy and Bosch Engineering. This year's winners included:
