The third and penultimate day of racing at the 2025 EurILCA Europa Cup GER concluded yesterday in Warnemünde, Germany, with two new races completed by all fleets, except for the ILCA 6 silver group, which managed to complete only one.

In the ILCA 7, Ole Schweckendiek GER is steadfastly ignoring a persistent cold. The Kiel native’s physical weakness was not noticeable, at least not on the water. With a second place and a race win, he moved up to first overall, overtaking his teammate Julian Hoffmann GER at the top. The Allgäu native had to contend with a 14th- and a 17th-place finish and is now third. Between the two Germans is Frenchman Alexandre Kowalski FRA, who is likely Ole Schweckendiek’s only remaining competitor in Tuesday’s final.

Ole Schweckendiek GER 10 pts
Julian Hoffmann GER 20 pts
Alexandre Kowalski FRA 33 pts
Lorenzo Mayer FRA 39 pts
Michal Krasodomski POL 46s

The ILCA 6 fleets now have Dane Mads Wegener Larsen DEN leading both the overall and Men’s standings. Croatian Josip Tafra CRO is his closest rival, 13 points behind. Two poor races pushed the overnight leader, Levian Büscher GER, down to third in the Men’s rankings and seventh overall. Anna Munch DEN—recently fourth at the 2025 World Championships in China—had a mixed performance, with a win and a disqualification. She has now dropped from second to third overall but continues to lead the Women’s competition.

Mads Wegener Larsen DEN 14 pts
Josip Tafra CRO 27 pts
Anna Munch DEN 30 pts
Helena Wolff DEN 31 pts
Aleksandra Lukoyanova BUL 32 pts

The ILCA 4 standings were also shaken up, with Cassandra Jansch GER from Hamburg now leading the fleet thanks to her consistent performance over the past few days. A second and a 13th place finish helped her climb to the top. “Especially in the second race, the wind and waves didn’t quite match up. The wind was already very light, but the waves were still holding. That didn’t make it easy” – declared Cassandra at the end of the day.

Sailing is in the 14-year-old student’s blood—her mother, Hanne, was an international-class athlete during her competitive sailing career. Born in Rostock, Hanne previously won World and European Championship medals in the Europe and Laser classes. Cassandra, however, remains unfazed by her mother’s achievements: “I don’t even know what she’s won. I just want to have fun here. I didn’t have a specific goal in mind.”

A medal here would be nice – definitely in the U16 age group. I don’t have any other big goals this year. But next year I’d like to go to the World Championships, and then we’ll see how things go in the ILCA 6. – Cassandra Jansch GER

Still, with her current position in the rankings, expectations are rising: “A medal here would be nice – definitely in the U16 age group. I don’t have any other big goals this year. But next year I’d like to go to the World Championships, and then we’ll see how things go in the ILCA 6.”

On the final day, everything is still open in the ILCA 4, as Flint Decroo BEL, Kaya Üner TUR, Wesse Brink NED and Csanád Almos Török HUN are all just a few points behind the leading German.

Cassandra Jansch GER 21 pts
Flint Decroo BEL 23 pts
Kaya Üner TUR 24 pts
Wesse Brink NED 26 pts
Csanád Almos Török HUN 26 pts
