Best Buddies from Germany win the AEGEAN 600 2025

by Dobbs Davis / AEGEAN 600 11 Jul 14:28 PDT 11 July 2025

Behind the first wave of finishers yesterday morning, yesterday and last night's steadier breezes helped sweep in another wave of Monohull and Multihull finishers to the race finish at Cape Sounion.

Based on their proportionally faster average speeds on the course relative to their IRC and ORC handicaps, these teams have displaced yesterday's leaders in these positions for the Monohull divisions.

Kay-Johannes's Swan 441 BEST BUDDIES from Germany are the winners of the AEGEAN 600 2025 edition and proud recipients of the prestigious AEGEAN 600 Trophy!

It is remarkable that in both IRC and ORC scoring, the podium was occupied by the same teams: BEST BUDDIES (GER) claimed the Gold, Maks Vrecko's Elan 450 KARPO (SLO) took Silver, and Dušan Ušenicnik's Elan 400 ELAYA (SLO) secured Bronze.

Final rankings in the Maxi class have also now changed: Philip Rann's Swan 80 UMIKO (GBR) is now on top, with George Procopiou's Volvo 70 AIOLOS (GRE) in second and Francesco Illy's Myles 76 E VAI (ITA) in third.

In the Multihulls, Adrian Keller's 86-foot catamaran ALLEGRA (SUI) remains firmly in the top position, winning the MOCRA Division.

These awards and more will be presented tomorrow evening at 21:00 at the gala Prize Giving Ceremony.

Information on how to enter the race, a complete list of entries, and the official Notice Board can be found at aegean600.com.
