The second day of the WASZP Pre-Games served up a classic British summer's day as sailors launched beneath a blanket of grey cloud and with a hug of fresh drizzle.

The lighter breeze delivered a new set of challenges — and opportunities — as competitors navigated the shifts and pressure bands that defined the day.

Starts once again proved to be a critical factor, with clean air and early lift-offs playing a decisive role up the first beat. Staying in phase with the breeze made all the difference.

Men's Overall Standings

Pablo Astiazaran Pérez-Cala (ESP) holds a narrow four-point lead after today's racing, showing impressive consistency with finishes inside the top three and a bullet in Race 6. Roo Purves (GBR) is just a whisker behind in second, while Matthis Johnson (FRA) sits third overall, buoyed by a strong second-place finish in Race 5. Peter Cope (GBR) and Andrew Chisholm (CAN) also remain firmly in the hunt — with just 10 points separating first from fifth, the podium is still wide open.

Women's Standings

Mina Ferguson (AUS) retains her position at the top of the leaderboard, while Marie Butler Wang (NOR) and Pearl Lattanzi (USA) are locked in a fierce battle for second — currently sitting on equal points. Both Lattanzi and Wang posted some impressive top-10 finishes today, highlighting the depth of talent in the women's fleet.

6.9m Rig Fleet

The 6.9m rig fleet saw a shake-up at the top. Jacopo Andrian (ITA) stormed to bullets in both races, taking the overall lead. Lena Fries (SUI) stayed firmly in the mix with a strong second in Race 5, keeping her in second overall, and Riccardo Bille (ITA) now rounding out the top three.

Division Leaders:

Consistency remains key and the regatta win is still all to play for with numerous nations capable of taking home the trophies.
