The Marinedi network at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025: A vision of a sustainable marina

The Marinedi Group, the leading network of tourist ports in the Mediterranean, will attend the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 (September 9-14) to showcase its vision for sustainable marina development— an approach fully integrated with the surrounding area and actively contributing to the ecological transition. This model blends innovation, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility, placing the marina at the centre of a new concept of hospitality and coastal growth.
Following the launch of an ambitious energy efficiency programme across its ports in recent years, Marinedi returns to Cannes to highlight the tangible results achieved and introduce new initiatives, with a particular emphasis on educating younger generations.
A virtuous example is the educational project promoted in collaboration with the socially-driven startup Sea the Change, which began in May 2025 at Marina di Vieste. This programme, aimed at local schoolchildren, promotes awareness about marine plastic pollution through creativity, hands-on actions, and environmental awareness.
The initiative—set to expand across the Marinedi network—adds to the Group's long-standing commitment to sustainability, including:
- Wastewater collection systems and marine discharge prevention
- Use of Seabins, drones and transcollectors for surface and seabed cleaning
- Eco-friendly materials for boat maintenance
- Optimization of energy consumption and electric mobility in the marinas
- Charging infrastructure for electric boats
- Eco-islands for waste sorting and recycling
- Collaborations with institutions and associations such as NatPower
All these efforts contribute to shaping a new vision of tourist marinas: more responsible, locally integrated, and actively engaged in the ecological transition.
