Day four at the 29er World Championship Porto 2025 delivered just one race per fleet due to tricky light wind conditions — but that was enough to shake up the leaderboard!

With a gentle 10-knot southwest breeze to start, the Bronze and Emerald fleets in Race Area B (Gaia) managed a clean race early. Meanwhile, Gold and Silver fleets in Race Area A (Porto/Matosinhos) battled delays, general recalls, and ultimately saw their second races abandoned as the breeze faded and swell grew.

Race Called Early

By 3:30 PM, race officials made the tough but necessary call to end racing for the day. Despite the short session, the competition at the top is very tight.

Leaderboard Shakes

The Gold fleet saw dramatic changes:

  • France's Jocelyn Le Goff & Jules Vidor now lead the championship overall!

  • Nicklas Holt & Philip Forslund from Norway moved up to second.

  • Giuseppe Montesano & Enrico Coslovich of Italy sit in third after consistent sailing.
Current Category Leaders:

Overall: FRA 3 - Jocelyn Le Goff & Jules Vidor
Top Female & U17: ITA 3483 - Bianca Marchesini & Lucia Finato
Top Mixed Team: ARG 2575 - Olivia Riesgo & Martin Díaz Tamayo

Looking Ahead

Forecasts for Day 5 suggest another light southerly breeze (6-7 knots) — perfect for tactical racing and high drama as we enter the championship's final stretch. Stay tuned. The medals are still very much up for grabs.
