Swiss cleantech company Bcomp is collaborating with innovative yacht manufacturer, Sunreef, to bring natural fibre materials into the interior finishings of their latest power catamaran.

The forward section, bar, barbecue, and navigation station of the new 100 Sunreef Power will be built with Bcomp's ampliTex™ material, which is made from flax fibre combined with bio-based or recyclable resin.

This next-generation material is a non-toxic, more sustainable, and stiffer alternative to glass, featuring vibration-damping properties that create a quieter and more comfortable interior experience for passengers.

These interior parts, which deliver exceptional mechanical stiffness and durability with minimal environmental impact, will be made in an aesthetically striking pearl grey and charcoal colour.

Incorporating Bcomp's high-performance natural fibre composite into the interior of this power catamaran design addresses the customisation needs of every customer, while helping manufacturers meet both sustainability goals and modern design expectations.

"Luxury should be redefined, not by excess but by conscious creation. True sustainable yachting embraces the natural elements, with the ocean breeze as its soundtrack" says Nicolas Lapp, CTO and Cofounder at Sunreef. "Collaborating with Bcomp, a company that shares our commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility, allowed us to explore a new design language where natural materials elevate both aesthetics and performance of our interiors."

With sustainability and innovation at the core of both brands, this collaboration marks a strategic step toward reshaping the yachting sector with high-performance bio-based materials and opens the door to expanding the use of these technical fabrics for semi-structural catamaran parts.

"This project is a powerful example of what's possible when it comes to sustainable yacht design" says Paolo Dassi, Marine & Industry Manager of Bcomp. "By collaborating with Sunreef, we can establish bio-based composites as a staple in the customised design and construction of eco catamarans".

Bcomp's natural fibre composites withstand the most extreme conditions, from Formula 1 seats to production sailboats, yachts, and dinghies, as well as solar-powered ferries. This collaboration with Sunreef further expands the use of these sustainable materials in the marine sector, with their versatility and high-performance an ideal fit for the craftsmanship of every unique 100 Sunreef Power.
