The latest report on cruiser, watersport, fishing boat and trailer sales trends, part of NMMA's 2024 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract, is now available for member download. The report examines retail unit sales for each category and by application.
In 2024, there were more than 238,000 new powerboats sold. In the watersports category, personal watercraft led with 70,704 units, with three-passenger models at the top, while inboard wake sport boats added 8,867 units.
Fishing boats split between freshwater at 54,446 units and saltwater at 24,823, with larger models posting the highest shares. Multi-purpose boats, led by pontoons, reached 56,280 units, followed by cruisers (10,029), which remained concentrated in sub-31-foot models, and jet boats (9,742).
