The spotlight of the international sailing scene turns once again to Italy as Marina di Scarlino hosts the Swan Tuscany Challenge, the fifth event of the 2025 The Nations League by ClubSwan Racing, following the successful regattas in Bonifacio, Porto Cervo, Riva del Garda, and Palma.
From September 16 to 20, a fleet of 25 yachts representing 12 nations (HUN, EGY, FRA, GBR, GER, ITA, JPN, MON, NED, SUI, TUR, USA) and more than 300 sailors of 25 different nationalities will battle for precious points across the ClubSwan 50, ClubSwan 36, and ClubSwan 28 classes.
Rankings heat up Across all classes
Earlybird and Marcello arrive in Scarlino looking to extend their leads atop their season leaderboard.
In the ClubSwan 50, this event marks a generational shift aboard two key contenders: Louis Bezner will take the helm of Olymp, stepping in for his father Mark, while Frederick Brandis replaces his father Hendrik on Earlybird, a sign that the future of the class is already taking shape.
Big tactical changes are also shaking up the ClubSwan 50 scene, as several high-profile sailors step into key roles. Terry Hutchinson joins Hatari, bringing a wealth of experience to the team. Vasco Vascotto is now calling the shots aboard Cuordileone, while Checco Bruni takes over as tactician on Earlybird. These additions inject fresh energy and elite-level strategy into an already highly competitive fleet.
In the ClubSwan 36, the battle for the top could not be tighter: Goddess and Fra Martina - Denza are locked on equal points at the top of the leaderboard, followed closely by GSpot. With everything to play for and just two events remaining, the outcome in Scarlino could prove decisive. The class also continues to nurture new talent through the ClubSwan Academy, which supports the development of teams like the Dutch-flagged C-Lion.
The ClubSwan 28 class welcomes two new teams making their debut in Scarlino, one from Hungary and another from Italy, further underlining the rapid growth of this exciting entry-level one-design.
More than racing
Beyond the competition on the water, the Swan Tuscany Challenge offers a rich calendar of social events and entertainment. The Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, September 16, will be made even more special by the performance of the Fanfara della Marina Militare Italiana.
The exclusive ClubSwan Lounge will serve as the heart of the regatta village, offering daily hospitality, post-race refreshments, and live music. A special highlight will be the Owners' Dinner and the Crew Party on Friday night, hosted at the Marina di Scarlino, while the courtesy car service, featuring vehicles from DENZA, the premium electric brand by BYD, will add comfort and elegance to the experience.
Federico Michetti, ClubSwan Racing Director and recently appointed Commercial Director for Southern Europe, commented: "Scarlino is the perfect setting for this kind of event, where top-tier racing meets Mediterranean elegance. We're seeing the ClubSwan 28 class grow rapidly, attracting both new owners and experienced sailors eager to be part of this unique community. At the same time, the level across all classes continues to rise, with elite tacticians joining the fleet, this elevates the competition and brings huge value to everyone involved. It's a great moment for ClubSwan Racing, and I'm proud to support it from both the water and ashore".
