At 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, the sound of horns filled the Olympic Marine in Lavrio, marking the conclusion of the largest event dedicated to yachting and sea tourism in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Bigger, more dynamic, and more international than ever, the 5th Olympic Yacht Show surpassed all previous editions, achieving record-breaking figures once again.

In an atmosphere of celebration and excitement, more than 25,000 visitors had the opportunity to admire 140 yachts afloat, explore 400 luxury brands, and enjoy numerous yacht premieres and parallel events. The notable increase in foreign visitors and the participation of international key players from the yachting industry further enhanced the global character of the exhibition. At the same time, the extensive interest and coverage by international media confirmed once more that the Olympic Yacht Show has rightfully earned its place among Europe's leading yachting events.

The opening ceremony of the 5th Olympic Yacht Show took place in the presence of representatives of the State, institutional bodies, and leading industry professionals. In his welcoming speech, Gerasimos Gerolimatos, Head of the Organizing Committee, highlighted the event's growing momentum, stating:

"Five years on, the Olympic Yacht Show has evolved into an institution for marine tourism and the leisure boating market. It is not just an event that showcases yachts, but one that connects people, ideas, and businesses - building bridges between the Greek and international markets, and between land and sea."

Subsequent speakers included George Prokopiou, owner of Olympic Marine; Vassilis Kikilias, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, representing the Prime Minister; Olga Kefalogianni, Minister of Tourism; and Angeliki Varela, President of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). All speakers emphasized the significant role of the Show in the growth of marine tourism in Greece and in promoting the country as a leading global yachting destination.

As part of the opening ceremony, honorary awards were presented for the second consecutive year to key figures of the yachting industry for their contribution to its development and their support of the Show. Honorees included George Pappas of Pappas Yachts, Alexandros Zeis of Motocraft, Ms. Sofia Vachari Tsouvelekaki, Christos Kontovasilis of Pantaenius Hellas, the team of Azimut Hellas, and Mary Gogosi of MG Yachts & Villas. The ONDECK team and the Organizing Committee's head, Gerasimos Gerolimatos, also took the stage to present George and Alexandra Prokopiou with a commemorative framed cover from Skipper ONDECK magazine featuring the couple.

A special highlight of this year's event was the 1000 Miglia Experience, the world's most iconic classic and contemporary car race, which made its first-ever stop in Greece - passing through Olympic Marine and adding a unique touch to the exhibition.

Redefining the standards of the national exhibition experience, the Olympic Yacht Show continues to focus on quality, aesthetics, innovation, and meaningful professional networking. It has become a landmark event for professionals and sea enthusiasts alike, firmly placing Lavrio on the global yachting map.

Support and Sponsors

For the third consecutive year, EKO supports the Olympic Yacht Show 2025 as the Grand Sponsor, reinforcing the most successful and recognized in-water show in Greece.

With the unwavering support of the State since its inception, the Olympic Yacht Show 2025 is held under the auspices and with the kind support of The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, the Ministry of Tourism, the Region of Attica, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Greek Marinas Association, the Hellenic Ports Association, the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce of Athens, and the Municipality of Lavreotiki.
