EXCESS RENDEZVOUS TAHITI, A DEEP CONNECTION TO THE NATURAL WORLD

images © Eric Benacek
On November 15th, 2025, our dealer in French Polynesia Sail Tahiti organized an inspiring and fun-filled Excess Rendezvous Tahiti event, bringing together owners, sailors, partners, and friends for an unforgettable celebration of sailing culture in Polynesia. With four Excess catamarans two Excess 11s and two Excess 14s, the day blended modern performance with the richness of traditional navigation.

One of the highlights of the event was the introduction to Polynesian traditional navigation to the participants, featuring star-guided seamanship and hands-on practice in a Holopuni Vaa (Sailing canoes built in Tahiti). This is a non-instrumental seafaring method which relies on deep knowledge of the natural world to sail across the ocean, showcasing the outdoor survival wisdom of the Polynesians. This corresponds to the Excess spirit: creating high-performance and comfortable vessels to help modern-day sailors build deep connection to the natural world and experience the surrounding elements.

After the precious learning session, it was time to get serious on the watera friendly race took place at Matavai Bay followed by an awards ceremony and cocktail reception for all crews upon their return to Marina de Papeete.

The success of this event is a testament to Sail Tahiti's dedicated and sincere services to our customers in French Polynesia. We are grateful for their exceptional role in creating this memorable EXCESS experienceone built on community, discovery, and the shared joy of the ocean.

SPOTTED: EXCESS 13 AT PARIS BOAT SHOW

At this years Paris Nautic Show, held from November 26th to 30th at the Parc des Expositions du Bourget, our new boat of the yearthe EXCESS 13was the center of attention, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd to our booth.

With its sleek design, aft helm stations for instinctive steering, lively central cockpit, bright spaces: everything has been designed to offer direct sensations and true agility under sail, and most importantly, to cater for todays hybrid lifestyle at sea!
SAILBOAT OF THE YEAR 2025
Since its official launch in April, the Excess 13 has not only achieved market success but also won the hearts of new-generation sailors and the international panels of jury. It has earned the Multihull of the Year 2025 award in the IMS Premiere category at the International Multihull Show, and has been nominated for the prestigious European Yacht of the Year 2026. The model has also received two significant award nominations in North America.

During the Paris Nautic Show, the Excess 13 has been voted Sailboat of the Year 2025 in the multihull category announced by Voile Magazine.

This award recognizes the exceptional agility of the Excess 13 on the water and the incomparable pleasure you get at the helm. The jury also praised the meticulous work carried out on this catamaran, with particular attention paid to ergonomics, design, and high level of finish.

This is a wonderful reward that highlights the work of all our teams involved in this project.
