Making its highly anticipated debut at the Palma International Boat Show from April 29 to May 2, 2026, the new Y7 not only sets a new standard for 22-metre luxury sailing but also marks the beginning of the German shipyard's 10th-anniversary celebrations.

Building on the phenomenal success of the original Y7 - which saw more than 20 yachts delivered globally - YYachts has collaborated with world-renowned naval architects judel/vrolijk & co to reimagine the superyacht from the ground up. The result is a yacht that retains the brand's core philosophy of speed made simple while introducing significant advancements in design, usability, and efficiency.

A New Hull and Enhanced Usability

At the heart of the new Y7 is a completely new hull shape featuring modern hydrodynamics. The wider hull delivers improved stability and highly efficient sailing, particularly in moderate winds. The mast has been positioned further aft, increasing sail efficiency and allowing for a sail plan of 305 square metres upwind. Combined with YYachts' signature lightweight carbon sandwich construction - keeping displacement to an industry-leading 31.5 tons - the new Y7 is exceptionally responsive, capable of matching wind speed in as little as five knots while remaining effortless to handle short-handed.

Redesigned Deck and Cockpit

The new Y7 introduces an offset companionway to the port side, offering a clear, unobstructed passage from the interior to the steering pedestals. The cockpit has been refined for comfort and safety, with deep seating and winches offset to the centreline for secure, spray-free operation. The trademark flush deck and near-vertical coach roof windows remain, providing a sleek profile while keeping the interior cool and naturally lit. A standout feature is the massive tender garage - capable of housing a 3.4-metre dinghy - made possible by the robust yet lightweight carbon construction.

Unprecedented Space and Customisation

Below deck, the new hull shape translates into dramatically increased interior living space. The Y7 offers up to nine different layout options and four curated interior concepts - each expressing its own character, from minimalist and modern to warm and inviting. Owners can choose between an open galley or an aft galley, incorporate an office studio, or add a VIP guest cabin. The master suite has been significantly expanded, featuring a larger bathroom, a desk area, and options for a walk-in wardrobe. No two Y7s will ever be the same.

"The new Y7 is a testament to YYachts' commitment to continuous innovation. They haven't just updated a successful model - they've completely re-engineered it to offer more space, greater efficiency, and even easier handling for owner-operators. It's the perfect superyacht for Australasian sailors looking to explore the Pacific or the Mediterranean in ultimate comfort and style."

Peter Hrones, Co-Founder, Carbon Yachts

Australian and New Zealand buyers have the unique opportunity to take delivery in Europe, enjoy an inaugural Mediterranean season, and have Carbon Yachts manage the full logistics of bringing their new yacht home. Carbon Yachts provides end-to-end support from handover through to ongoing warranty and after-sales service once the yacht reaches local shores.

The new Y7's interior has been developed in collaboration with acclaimed Danish architect Studio David Thulstrup and the YYachts in-house design team, continuing a creative partnership that has become a hallmark of the brand's approach to understated luxury at sea.

The new Y7 joins the German builder's carbon superyacht line-up alongside the Y8 and flagship Y9. Looking further ahead, YYachts will also premiere its forthcoming Y6 model - a 65-foot owner-operated superyacht designed by Tripp Design Naval Architecture with interiors by Studio David Thulstrup - set to be launched in autumn 2026.
