SkipperBud's, one of the Midwest's leading full-service boat dealerships, will assume marina management responsibilities for North Point Marina beginning with the 2026 boating season.

SkipperBud's will oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and overall customer experience at North Point Marina. The collaboration reflects SkipperBud's commitment to enhancing one of Illinois' premier boating destinations while continuing to provide high-quality facilities and services for Lake Michigan boaters.

"I am so excited to share with you all that it's finally time to celebrate! The contract between the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Skipper Bud's to manage North Point Marina has been executed. I am thrilled that the marina will be open for this season!" said State Representative Joyce Mason

With decades of experience managing marinas across the Midwest, SkipperBud's brings a proven track record of operational excellence and customer service. This background will help ensure a best-in-class experience for slip holders, visiting boaters, and the surrounding boating community.

"We are honored to partner with North Point Marina," said Todd Riepe, Regional President, SkipperBud's. "We look forward to bringing our customer-focused approach and operational standards to the marina and enhancing the boater experience while preserving its important role in the region's recreational boating community."

North Point Marina is the largest marina on the Great Lakes, featuring a protected floating dock system with 1,500 slips for vessels up to 70'. Ideally located between Chicago and Milwaukee, the marina is adjacent to Illinois Beach State Park - one of the nation's most scenic state parks.
