Hamble-based rigging specialist, Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics (part of the Ancasta Group), is celebrating the continuation of its partnership with World Cruising Club, the world's leading organiser of offshore sailing rallies, with a special event at the Southampton International Boat Show on Saturday 19 September 2026.
Following the Ancasta Group's recent partnership with Goslings Rum, visitors to the Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics stand (H4) will be invited to join the expert team from 16:00 for a taste of the island life with a Dark 'n' Stormy cocktail, while discovering more about the specialist rigging support available to sailors preparing for coastal cruising, ocean passages and world cruising adventures.
The informal gathering will provide World Cruising Club members and sailing enthusiasts with the opportunity to meet the Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics team, discuss their future sailing plans and benefit from the knowledge and experience of one of the UK's most respected rigging specialists.
As part of the partnership with World Cruising Club, Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics provides expert advice and comprehensive rigging services to ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), World ARC participants and the wider bluewater sailing community, helping sailors prepare their yachts for the demands of offshore passagemaking.
Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics is led by Managing Director and veteran rigger Neil Brinsdon, who comments: "We're delighted to continue our partnership with World Cruising Club and to support its members as they prepare for their sailing adventures.
"Offshore sailing places significantly greater demands on a yacht's rig than coastal cruising, and having the right advice, preparation and maintenance programme in place is essential. Our Southampton Boat Show event is a great opportunity to meet members face-to-face, answer their questions and share our experience of helping sailors prepare their yachts for safe and successful voyages."
Paul Tetlow, Managing Director of World Cruising Club, welcomes the continued partnership: "Working with Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics reflects World Cruising Club's commitment to supporting our rally participants with access to world-class technical expertise and practical advice. Preparing a yacht for offshore sailing requires careful planning, and the specialist knowledge offered by Neil and his team helps sailors make informed decisions to enhance safety, reliability and performance.
"The event at the Southampton Boat Show is perfectly timed to follow our Cruisers' Question Time session earlier that day in Ocean Village, providing an ideal opportunity for members to continue the conversation, and discuss the practical considerations of preparing for offshore adventures in a relaxed and informal setting."
The event will take place on Saturday 19 September 2026 from 16:00 at the Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics stand (H4) at the Southampton Boat Show. All World Cruising Club members, Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics customers and visitors interested in offshore sailing are invited to attend.
