Marine Jobs recently attended two major Careers Expos across North Queensland, engaging with the next generation of marine industry talent.

The Townsville Careers Expo on 3 August attracted almost 2,000 students, while more than 500 students attended the Mackay event, providing valuable opportunities to showcase the diverse career pathways available within the marine industry.

While in the region, Marine Jobs also took the opportunity to meet with local industry members to gain a deeper understanding of current workforce challenges and discuss ways to strengthen skills pathways. Conversations focused on increasing collaboration with schools, educators and TAFE Queensland to support training and employment opportunities for future marine professionals.

A sincere thank you to Breakwater Marina, Rising Sun Marine, Sugar City Marine and Mackay Marina for generously taking the time to share their insights and experiences. These discussions are invaluable as we continue working together to address skills shortages and build a stronger workforce for the future of the marine industry.
