Henri Lloyd - Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, through the lens of Kurt Arrigo

For nine days, 253 yachts spanning more than a century of sailing history gathered off Saint-Tropez. Renowned marine photographer Kurt Arrigo was there to capture the contrast between centenarian classics, elegant schooners and modern racing yachts.

Generations On The Water

Centenarian classics and elegant schooners share the water with modern racing yachts. Different generations of design and craftsmanship, all raced hard on the Mediterranean.

In the words of Kurt Arrigo: For a fraction of a second, the yacht, the light, the sea and the story come together. That's the moment I'm chasing.

For more than 30 years, Kurt has photographed sailing at its most demanding. Capturing the right moment starts long before the shutter: reading the wind, light and movement of the yachts, positioning himself ahead of the action and waiting for everything to align.

Kurt’s Kit

A lightweight waterproof shell, a warm technical midlayer and a quick-drying polo for long days on and around the water.
