Effective October 30, changes to the list of Canadian products subject to an additional 50% tariff under Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 are now in place.

The changes, announced in an October 23 White House proclamation, add 100 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes to the tariff list and remove 22 codes.

The additional 50% tariffs will continue to apply on top of applicable Section 232 tariffs, regardless of whether products qualify for preferential treatment under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
