BIA update, new products, Sydney Harbour maintenance facility reviewed | Boating Industry Association (BIA) Boating Industry Association | Two announcements from the Boating Industry Association heads our weekly Marine Business World news letter this week.
The first is the announcement that the NSW Commercial Vessels Association members have voted to merge with the BIA. Formed in 1988, the CVA represents operators of vessels carrying paying passengers, such as the tourist boats, charter operators and private ferries in NSW. As it stands, the CVA represents most of the 250 charter vessels and private ferries in Sydney Harbour, and in other parts of NSW. In order to gain increased support and service for their members, they have decided to merge with the BIA.
The Association has also announced that they are hosting the International Congress of Marine Industry Associations and the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers next week on the Gold Coast. The ICOMIA / IFBSO Congress is a major date on the international calendar, attracting people from across the industry and from all parts of the globe. The Congress takes place from 24 to 27 May, overlapping with the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, and following the ASMEX conference.
