Latest waterfront developments and more new product announcements | Wave Attenuator EOI at Snug Cove applauded Connexion PR | We are always interested in hearing about the latest waterfront developments and this week two locations will be benefiting from further investment. In Eden, NSW, news that the wave attenuator project at Snug Cove is finally going to the market for Expressions of Interest has been welcomed by the developers of the Eden Marina at Cattle Bay, Eden.

According to Howard Glenn, National CEO of the Boating Industry Association, the announcement by Mr. Constance is confirmation that the NSW Government has a genuine commitment to better boating facilities in NSW. “This is good news on all fronts,” said Mr. Glenn.

In Victoria, Victorian Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Hon James Merlino announced that the Victorian Government will invest a further $3.5 million in the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Precinct Redevelopment. The investment will be made by the School Building Authority and will directly fund the redevelopment of the Victorian Sailing School (VSS). The new VSS facilities will support the expanded delivery of extensive education, training and safety programs for secondary students from the region and throughout the state.

Osprey Technical Ltd, marine electronic installation specialists announced their first app. This new app is designed to work on the iPhone and Apple Watch and is purely for B&G marine electronics. The app enables the watch wearer to view instrument data from the displays on their wrist! The Osprey team are passionate about sailing and marine electronics and so have used this knowledge and experience to develop a new app for sailors.

J-Boats continue to expand their brand throughout the world and SAIL Magazine has announced the winners of SAIL's 2018 Best Boats Awards. If there's one word that sums up the Best Boats Class of 2018, it would have to be “performance.” The boat review team at SAIL magazine determined the new J/121 offshore speedster was SAIL's choice for Best Boats - Performance 30 to 40 feet.

From Europe the first of the flagship Jeanneau 64 models is heading to Australia and New Zealand. The 64 has been attracting accolades since her launch and is consistent in providing all who sail on her a feeling of superyacht luxury and performance pedigree.
