EMB Photographics | We hope you enjoy and find the Australian Marine Business letter interesting and useful. As part of the Sail-World organisation we regard the opportunity of reporting our industry's news on a weekly basis as an important contribution to the industry.
The combined Sail-World sites have the highest reach of any sailing digital news network in the world. However we have not forgotten the power boat section of the industry and we are now focusing on the development and growth of Powerboat.world on a global basis. John Curnow is editing the site and if you have any news of your power boat products, stories or news items, please forward the information to john.curnow@sail-world.com who will give it his immediate attention.
| Sydney International Boat Show 2016 Sydney International Boat Show |
Meanwhile the industry is focusing on the upcoming Sydney International Boat Show being held for the first time at the reconstructed International Convention Centre and Cockle Bay Marina, Darling Harbour between the third and seventh of August. It's the occasion of the 50th Sydney International Boat Show and a lot of water has passed under the Pyrmont Bridge in those 50 years. My first experience of the show was when it was held at the Royal Agricultural Show Ground in Moore Park. No water access and the only yachts with keels were Beneteaus, hauled in on low loaders. The show occupied all of the various show ground pavilions, all different shapes and sizes and working out how to take in the whole show was an exercise in itself. In the eighties the show moved to Pyrmont for three years, lodged between two old wharf piers. It did enable an on-water facility but if it rained and one year it did, the whole show was on water! Twenty five years ago it moved to Darling Harbour.
