Overseas news dominates this week's Australian Marine Business World | Whitsunday Islands Lhamo Johnson | Superyacht Australia will have a strong presence at the Monaco Yacht Show supporting a showcase of the Australian Superyacht industry capability and promoting Australia as a world class cruising destination offering safe, secluded and pristine waters. Key players from the Australian superyacht industry will be present ensuring a good cross section from all industry sectors represented including agents, brokers, equipment manufacturers, refit and repair yards, superyacht builders, designers and media.

At the Southampton Boat Show in the south of England, Beneteau launched the Swift Trawler 35. The Beneteau Swift Trawler 35 is taking over from the extremely successful Swift Trawler 34, which sold over 400 boats in her tenure. Not an easy task but this completely new boat with a redesigned hull takes on this challenge and not only succeeds but brings a trawler style boat bang up to date!

Beneteau also revealed the new Beneteau Oceanis 51.1 and the Oceanis Yacht 62 at the same show, which opened on the 15th September and runs until the 24th September. British sailor Alex Thomson was at the show to assist with the launchings. Both Beneteau and Alex Thomson challenge the norm, making Alex the natural choice to launch the first of the new Oceanis range of yachts, which reinvents the concept of the cruising yacht.

Also in the south of England, Spinlock, designers and manufacturers of rope holding equipment and personal safety products for leisure and commercial water users, has been presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation, at their production facility on the Isle of Wight.

The Cowes-based business, founded in 1968, was announced as winners of the coveted award in April 2017 and the Isle of Wight's Lord-Lieutenant Major General Martin White CB CBE JP presented the award at a special ceremony on Tuesday September 12th.

In the USA the Australian 2015 and 2016 Exporter of the Year, Riviera, will premiere two sophisticated Sport Yachts in a three motor yacht display at the Norwalk Boat Show in Norwalk Cove Marina from September 21 to 24.

Riviera's display, in conjunction with Grande Yachts International, will feature the Premiere of the two-stateroom Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht and the flagship 6000 Sport Yacht. The display will also include a 5400 Sport Yacht.
