The superyacht industry has grown exponentially over the past 20 years and Australia has become a prime target for superyacht owners, anxious to find save havens, fantastic scenery and great weather. So it's not surprising that the boating industry have answered the call and in the case of Abell Point Marina in the Whitsundays, provided a new web site.

The marina has launched a new superyacht website, providing a wealth of information for superyacht captains, owners and crew relating their superyacht marina facilities, as well as cruising the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef. Since being awarded Best Innovation by a Marina at the 2017 Marina Industry Awards, Abell Point is gaining a reputation for innovative marketing strategies focused on driving visitation to this popular region of Queensland.

On Sydney Harbour and for the month of October, White Bay 6 Marine Park has become Pink Bay 6 Marine Park to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October the team have been holding various activities to support the campaign.

Other marine businesses have joined in with PPG Marine Coatings donating an entire antifoul up to 80ft, Oz Jet Boating donating double passes for their jet boat adventure rides, and retailer BoatCrewGear.com and Gill Australia joining forces to donate $5.00 from every pink PFD sold.

Finally but not least, Vale David Rose has passed away. David was part of the growth of the sailing industry over the past 30 years having built over 600 Careel Trailer Sailors from the 70s onwards. The Careel 18 and 22s introduced many people to sailing and David and his wife Pam were always on hand to give advice and assistance to the owners. He will be sadly missed.
