A celebration event for the superyacht industry hosted by NZ Marine was attended by crew from an impressive 30 superyachts, as well as 52 marine businesses. NZ Marine says the event highlighted New Zealand's superyacht-friendly regulations, including a 21-month temporary import period and tax concessions for refits, supported by expanded marina and shipyard infrastructure in Auckland, Northland and Tauranga. These advantages make New Zealand and efficient and attractive destination for cruising refit work.

BRP Inc acknowledges the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) decision to oppose the proposed sale of Telwater Pty, Ltd to Yamaha Motor Australia Pty Ltd. In light of the ACCC's decision, BRP remains the owner of Telwater, and will continue to operate this profitable business and offer Australian consumers quality and reliable boats through its iconic brands. Given the size of Telwater's business, BRP confirms this will have no impact on its Fiscal Year 2026 financial guidance.

Tasmanian infrastructure updates aplenty! Opossum Bay: An upgrade to the boat ramp has now been completed, with the ramp widened by 2.5 metres and extended by 4 metres. These improvements make the facility more user-friendly, particularly at low tide. Sisters Beach: Final approvals have been obtained, and a contractor has been appointed for a new concrete landing stage. Works are scheduled to commence after Easter. Millbrook Rise: Improvements have recently been completed, including the installation of a new 21-metre pontoon and a 3.3-metre concrete abutment on the northern side of the boat ramp. Lake Crescent: A contractor has been appointed to construct a new timber walkway at the ramp. Works are scheduled to begin in late February 2026.

Happy New Year to all our readers.
